"The Bluebird of Happiness long absent from his life, Ned is visited by the Chicken of Depression." ~Gary Larson If you are an avid Far Side fan you need no other information than the above sentence to conjure, in your mind's eye, a 'Larsonesque' image of a down and out nerd being visited by a pathetic chicken to make his life even more miserable. This is why Gary has probably had more of an impact on our psyche than most U.S. presidents.

Ch 1 Episode 3 The cartoonist designs some characters

Scott Adams, the creator of the comic strip Dilbert, has two college degrees and is a member of Mensa. It's trivia like that that makes the Judge Knott cartoonist feel like he'd have better luck as a used bubble gum sculptor.
